Walk with HIM: To Live is CHRIST

Ann @ Holy Experience asked us to prayerfully consider: Naming the New Year. What’s your word for 2011? What your theme for the New Year? We look forward to your thoughts, stories, ideas….

My word for 2011 is …………………. LIVE as in TO LIVE is CHRIST!!

This is in keeping with my own eager desire and persistent expectation and hope, that I shall not disgrace myself nor be put to shame in anything; but that with the utmost freedom of speech and unfailing courage, now as always heretofore, Christ (the Messiah) will be magnified and get glory and praise in this body of mine and be boldly exalted in my person, whether through (by) life or through (by) death. For me to live is Christ [His life in me], and to die is gain [the gain of the glory of eternity]. Philippians 1:20-21

I want to really LIVE in HIM, through HIM, by HIM, because of HIM and for HIM!! I want to LIVE as I have never lived before. I want to Love more, Obey more, Serve more, Sacrifice more, Pray more, Worship more, Sing more, Shout more, Forgive more, Thank HIM more, Know HIM more, Study HIM more and Talk about HIM more. I simply want to LIVE, because to LIVE is Christ!

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows). John 10:10b

I want to LIVE to the fullest this life that the Father so generously allowed me to have and I know to do that I must LIVE as in TO LIVE is CHRIST!! This new year the only resolution I have is that I am resolved to LIVE!!

How will I begin to LIVE this out in the upcoming year?

Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. John 15:4-5

I will LIVE by dwelling in HIM!

Before my feet hit the ground each morning, may I remember to whom I belong and remember that God’s WORD is beautiful and vital. It is to my spirit as air, water and food are to my physical body. Therefore I will keep myself continually in HIS word!

So if you had to pick one word to sum up what you want, what your looking for, what you need, what you hope in 2011, what would it be?

Update: 12/31/10 I picked up a small devotion book I was given at Christmas written by Beth Moore. I admit I had not noticed the title before, cause that doesn’t matter, if it’s by BM I know I will like it. Well, I finally noticed the title: To Live is Christ!!! Isn’t that just soooo cool! God is sooooo good, ALL the time!!!

I love choosing one word to guide me through the coming year. I like your word and how you explained what you hope it will bring you in the coming year. The word I chose is not as inspirational as yours, but I’m hoping that it will keep me focused on what I want to accomplish over the coming year. I chose the word consistency. I wrote more about why I chose that word on my blog.

First, I followed you from Ann’s

I know it was unplanned, but the snow falling on the flower is an interesting analogy – I could stay on that all day 🙂

I heart the idea of a year of “live”. To live in HIM, through HIM, by HIM, because of HIM and for HIM – amen.

My word is connecting, not just by clicking, or meeting, but by seeing better and knowing better.

I’ve just finished praying for your year of “living” that Our Lord help you to dwell in him, abide in him, live in him.

May God bless and you and all of yours
