Raising Chickens for Eggs. Need help =o)

We are almost a 100% sure we want to raise some chickens for eggs and maybe even some Rabbits for meat….gasp, I know some people probably can’t stand the idea but Rabbits would be a great (less expensive) source of meat (protein) free all the extra’s they stick in meats these days. In the future I hope we can have a couple of pigs and maybe even a cow. So I was wondering if anyone is doing it now or has done it because I would love to hear your story. Also please feel free to post any helpful tips, suggestions or what NOT to do comments!
