Verse for today: I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.
Yes it’s that time of year again; “Dancing With The Stars” has started it’s new season.
Twelve stars and their professional dance partners compete for weeks to see who the public thinks is the best. They spend hundreds of hours of tortuous rehearsals learning all the different dances; perform for over 20 million people and have to stand there and let the judges criticize them, in front of a live audience. Why do they do it?! For recognition and the absolutely fabulous prize of a Mirror Ball trophy. I love to watch the progress they make from one week to the next. I couldn’t do it myself, but I love to watch the show. Ecc. 3:4, says that, “there is a time to mourn, and a time to dance,” and in Ps. 149:3, we are told to, “praise His name with dance….” You may be saying, “Not me, I can’t dance.” Maybe like me you aren’t very good at coordinating your feet and arms and everything else, with the rhythm of the music. God didn’t say we had to be good; He just said that “there is a time to dance.” After all, dancing is just celebrating with your body, what Jesus has done for you and how wonderful He is. Some of us will never dance physically, and you know what, our heavenly Father won’t make us; but all of us can dance with our hearts and our spirits. Just turn loose, and let your spirit soar in thankfulness and praise and wonder for who Jesus is and how much He loves you. What an amazing thought! Instead of a professional dance partner, our partner will be the one who created dance to begin with. And, you know what, we aren’t bound by the law of gravity or the opinions of the judges. We can just spend time with the “lover of our souls.” One day we will dance, not in a ballroom, but on the streets that are pure gold, and our costume will be a Robe of Righteousness; more glorious than any fabric man can create. What a day that will be! Do you sense it; the orchestra is tuning up, the spotlight is on and Jesus , the only real “Star”, is holding out His hand to you, inviting you to come dance with Him. He longs for that time with you. Don’t worry about not knowing the steps, just follow His lead. He will never steer you wrong.
Your assignment :: Spend 10 minutes alone with Jesus.
Let your spirit soar today!
